In the 1930’s, David McLean journeyed across the Atlantic with his mother from Lochgelly, Scotland, to Ellis Island. They met up with their father William, who had crossed a few years earlier, and settled in the area around Northern New Jersey like many of the immigrants at that time. They grew up, served during World War II, got married and had children.
Just two generations later, David the grandson, travelled the world, had a family, and decided to make ice cream. He, with his wife Katherine, daughter Ivy, and son Kyle now create the handmade batches of ice cream for their community.
Why ice cream? We needed it in New Kent, and we also need a good space for folks to meet and hang out. David also toiled away for his chefy sister in kitchens of the past, and picked up many different culinary skills as a consequence. So enjoy some classical flavors or new bright mixtures and know that they come from our family to yours.
